Raising awareness and providing support on the journey to a cure.

WHO WE ARE
Small Beginnings
Here at Endometriosis Awareness Atlantic, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since its founding in 2020, EAA has been making an impact as the first Atlantic Canadian resource for endometriosis information and support. The core of our efforts is to provide relevant, local information, raise funds for research, and build a community for those living in the Atlantic provinces diagnosed with endometriosis.
WHAT WE DO
Making A Difference
At Endometriosis Awareness Atlantic, we are dedicated to providing accurate and up-to-date information. Many websites, including some national health organizations, have incorrect or incomplete information about endo. The resources you'll find here are reviewed and fact-checked regularly so you know you're getting the right information. Reach out if there's an impactful resource you think should be featured on this site!

AWARENESS AND SUPPORT
Building a community
With the mission always in mind, EAA is working to raise awareness throughout the Atlantic provinces (and beyond) while providing those with endometriosis a safe, open community.

FACTS & FIGURES
In Numbers
1 IN 10
Number of women &Â an unstudied number of non-binary people have endometriosis
Endometriosis affects so many people yet it is still under-researched, under-funded, and misunderstood by most of the population and medical community. By advocating for ourselves and others, we can help decrease the amount of time it takes.
0
Number of cures for endometriosis
That's correct: there is not one single cure for endometriosis. Not birth control, pregnancy, hysterectomy, or ablation (burning of the endo lesions). The gold standard for endometriosis treatment is excision surgery.
7 TO 10
Number of years on average that it takes to get diagnosed with endometriosis
Doctors and other medical professionals are still very quick to dismiss menstrual pain. Concepts like "Periods are supposed to be painful" and the taboo of discussing menstruation openly lead to people second-guessing themselves or being told that it's all in their head.
